Mastitis culture results you can rely on
Accuracy and reliability of results is crucial for on-farm or in-clinic bovine mastitis diagnostics.
Mastatest is easy to use and requires minimal training. Each test is read and interpreted in the cloud, with full results then delivered back to the farm and veterinarian.
Our trials show Mastatest has equivalent accuracy to laboratory methods for detecting common bacterial types causing bovine mastitis.
Should you have any concerns about a test result, you can manually request a review by emailing our customer support team.

Unique on-farm antibiotic sensitivity testing
Antibiotic resistance is a growing concern, for human and animal health alike. Veterinarians have a key part to play in ensuring that precious antibiotics are used appropriately.
Mastatest is the only on-farm mastitis diagnostic that can simultaneously test for bacterial type AND antibiotic sensitivity. Our published evidence demonstrates Mastatest can accurately determine minimum inhibitory Concentrations (MIC's) for antibiotics as well as laboratory methods.
Results are reported as an MIC for each antibiotic tested, ranked in order of highest probability of effectiveness (lowest MIC value) to lowest probability of effectiveness.
This data enables you to understand the most effective antibiotic, for the best chance of a cure.

Full data visibility
The Mastatest customer portal is integral to our system. All clinical and subclinical test results for a client are collated in the portal, making them always available for review by both farmer, and a linked veterinarian.
Veterinarians can also use the portal to set an individualised treatment algorithm for their linked farm clients. With your treatment algorithm in place, farms receive a recommended course of action for each reported result. This removes the need for farmers to try and interpret results before they act.
Within the portal, the entire dataset can be analyzed and reported on using our simple, intuitive data management tools. You can view stats such as the prevalence of bacterial types, the variance of mastitis case numbers and bacterial types across the year, antibiotic sensitivity patterns, report on the cows with recurrent or chronic clinical or subclinical mastitis issues.
