Mastaplex Named Finalist in the Prestigious IDF Dairy Innovation Awards 2025 

Dunedin, New Zealand – 15 September 2025  

Mastaplex has been named a finalist in the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards 2025, recognised for its flagship product, Mastatest, in the category Sustainable Farming Practices - Innovation in Animal Care in Farming. This marks the first time a New Zealand company been named a finalist since the awards were established. 

Organised by the International Dairy Federation (IDF), the Dairy Innovation Awards celebrate breakthroughs that strengthen a safe, sustainable global dairy sector. Now in its fourth year, the program celebrates innovations that drive sustainability, efficiency, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In 2025, the awards attracted more than 130 entries worldwide. 

As a finalist, Mastaplex joins a distinguished group of innovators from across the global dairy industry. The recognition underscores the company’s commitment to practical, forward-thinking solutions that support a more resilient and sustainable future for dairy farming. 

Olaf Bork, CEO of Mastaplex, said:

With Mastatest, dairy farmers and veterinarians can make evidence-based decisions on the selective use of antibiotics for mastitis. Our smart data tools then enable herd-level analysis for improved long-term mastitis management. Ultimately this leads to better outcomes for the cow, the herd, and the wider community.” 

Winners of the 2025 IDF Dairy Innovation Awards will be announced at a ceremony during the IDF World Dairy Summit, taking place in Santiago, Chile, from 20–23 October 2025.
